Cold :) It's simpler than you think. There is a guy over there that knows how to do it but I will wait. I'm going to say to you how I've done this, but not now.
A clue could be: I've generated a field with some charges in a box, then, I've used that data to generate some kind of geometry that represent charges and their proximity (I think I'm making this easier than I though). That geometry has being converted into a simpler geometry entity and finally converted into a mesh.
