Unstable Door

An experiment in layered plywood.

    It is very nice.

    Why unstable ?

Well it's a stable door, as in it's going on an old horse stable which will be my workshop one day. Unstable because it has an oscillating pattern and when I shake the top, the whole thing wobbles probably because I used poor quality marine plywood instead of furniture grade plywood!

One of the biggest challenges has been that 18mm plywood is never 18mm! It varies from 17.8mm to 18.7mm across the sheet and averages at about 18.2mm so the heights of the hinges are out but i can use washers to pack the hinges to the right height. Unfortunately the right hand side is longer than the left so I might face some challenges getting it to fit but I can machine it to size hopefully.

As I said... it's been a bit of an experiment to see how this method of construction works out.
