Our competition entry for the Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul, South Korea.
Our proposal creates a series of spaces from intimate to grand for the people of Seoul that reconnects the Jamsil complex to the surround city and Han River. A new grand park cater for large events and have the civic stature appropriate to an international sporting venue. In counterpoint a series of smaller spaces will address informal leisure use. Many of these spaces will change with the seasons connecting people to nature and giving the complex a dynamic setting. Specifically integrating the rising water level in to the design makes the complex usable year round and brings the drama of the Han River into the site.
