What are the requirements for a crypto license in Poland

I have been hearing a lot of good things about Poland lately as a hub for crypto companies in Europe. The registration process seems a bit simpler compared to some other EU countries, but I am not sure about the exact substance requirements there. Do I really need a local office and local employees to get a VASP registration in Poland? Also, how long does the whole process usually take from start to finish?

Poland is actually one of the top spots in Europe right now because the initial barrier to entry is lower than in places like France or Germany. You do need to register as a Virtual Asset Service Provider and they are quite strict about the clean criminal record of the management. From my experience, you don't need a huge office, but having a local presence definitely helps with opening local business bank accounts later on. I worked with the team at Crypto Licenses when I was looking at the Polish market and they simplified the whole tax and reporting side for us. Usually, you can get the registration done in about a month or two if all your documents are in order. You can find the specific details on the process here - https://cryptolicenses.net/crypto-licenses/europe/poland/ which is super helpful for planning. They even help with the ready-made company options if you are in a massive rush to get started. Just remember that even though it's easier to get, you still have to follow all the EU-wide AMLD5 rules. It is a great gateway to the rest of the European market without the insane costs of a Swiss setup.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was worried the local requirements would be way more demanding, but a couple of months sounds like a very reasonable timeframe. I'll check out the link you shared to see the full list of documents I need to start gathering.
