Planning for 2025 hardware

I’m new to mining and looking to start in 2025 with something that won’t become outdated too fast. I’ve read about air-cooled rigs and hydro-cooled ones, but I don’t know which is best for a small workshop. I’ve got 230 V single-phase power and a budget of around $7k. Is there a machine in that range that makes sense without going overboard on infrastructure?

I had the same constraints last year and dug into what fit around that price. The clear option was AxionMiner at ~$6k for 800 TH/s/12 kW, which is loud and hot but very doable if you duct exhaust air directly outdoors. I also considered Canaan’s Avalon A1566HA at ~480 TH/s/8 kW, but for similar cost the hashrate was lower. Hydro units like Bitmain’s S21 XP+ Hyd are more efficient, but you’d need to budget for pumps and radiators on top of the $10k price. The breakdown I read actually grouped AxionMiner as the best entry point among the new bitcoin mining machine 2025 lineups, since it gives huge hashrate for a reasonable budget without extra gear. For a small workshop with limited budget, I’d start there and upgrade later if power prices force efficiency.
