Crystallon

Crystallon is an open source project for creating lattice structures using Rhino and Grasshopper3D. The goal is to generate lattice structures within Rhino’s design environment without exporting to 3rd party software, with the advantage of modularity and the ability to combine other powerful tools available for Grasshopper3D. Each tool is left as a cluster which can be opened and modified at will, in the spirit of open source. We hope the community will continue to develop and contribute through the use of the Grasshopper forums and Github.

Rabbit with Lattice

Hello,

Does anyone have any hints how to approach the 'Rabbit with Lattice' that was apparently made using Crystallon?

I thought maybe fill a bounding sphere with voxels and use the Rabbit mesh to trim.

But I don't seem to find that particular unit cell in either lattice or shell form.

And on a related note I've had difficulties to Thicken a simple Cubic Center shell using the techniques from the Example file.

Would be keen to figure this out so I can apply the technique to others parts.

Thanks,

Upon reflection, perhaps it is a Custom unit cell that is Morphed to the Rabbit Skin, then Thickened with Pipes.

      Hi Dana,

What you see there are the "voxels" made by using the "offset mesh" components. If you use a triangulated mesh, it will create a quad mesh from each triangle like you see.
