Welcome to the group. At the moment I'm working on a few minor technical issues. I think I will be able to make the whole package available for download within around two weeks. In the meantime, please provide me with your suggestions.
Hi everyone. Sorry for the delay. You can download the first version from the link above. Please let us know if you happen to encounter any bugs or other problems.
excellent plugin. I am wondering if there is some open source place where I can find those maps (for Istanbul) to be more specific? Or you imagined for user to redraw curves inside rhino? Looking really interesting
Hi, these methods are for sure members of Rhinocommon (the library of methods behind Rhino and most of geometric operations in GH). Based on a similar case, I guess, most probably, you have a Rhino that is not updated recently. You can go to your Rhino settings (the yellow toothed wheel icon) and update your Rhino.
If you receive these error messages: Error (BC30456): 'epsilonequals' is not a member of 'Rhino.Geometry.Point3d'. (line 233), this is an issue with updating your Rhino 5. You need to go to Rhino/options (the yellow toothed wheel) and check for updates.
I failed to input a polylines into SplitNetwork direct from Elk, somehow is not making a branches then, and no coloring as Endefekt. So I need to bake it first every time...
What does r ScriptVariable in SplitNetwork? is it percentage of 100 or multiply...?
Second, cant get Block Measures cluster working.Somehow I think (probable nonsense) it does not likes numbers over 1000.
'Vicinity' means 'in the general area of'. For instance:
"The police were in the vicinity when the bank was being robbed. They arrived before the robber could escape." "I was in the vicinity and decided to drop by for a visit.
'Proximity' refers to the closeness of 2 people or things in relation to each other:
"He was in close proximity to the figurine when it fell off the shelf." "Their proximity to the explosion led the police to believe that they were involved."
Thank you for your kind reply.. Did anyone else have trouble with terrain? When I set it to include terrain in calculation, nothing happens, all calculation disappear.
Also, some explanation could be useful for polycentricDistribution component. What it calculates exactly? And how it is taking into account terrain surface? I would like to know the logic of including terrain surface into calculation, and how it affects results?
I found a problem with terrain: When terrain is included following outputs report null as outcome: proximity, proxi_col, vicinity, Vici_Color. As a result of that non of the latter procedures is executed.
In Cheetah, proximity measure indicates how close one is to all points of interest at the same time and vicinity measure indicates how close one is to any of them. For example, you might want to be close to one of the supermarkets (as a point of interest) in your area but you might want to be close to city center and station at the same time.
Cheetah is meant for pedestrian accessibility analyses. Therefore, when you take a topographic terrain into account, all the calculation will be done considering walking impedance. Here you can find a video, in which Pirouz explains more about it.
About your problem with a topographic surface, make sure that:
_ your surface is on top of your network
_your surface is converted to mesh (you can easily do it by using Mesh Brep component)
_ It is bigger than your network such that it covers the entire network
_there is no intersection between the surface and your network.
I would suggest checking its location on front, right and top views.
We will release the GHA version very soon. At the moment, you can download the GH sample file and save the Cheetah components as user object components.
About the polycentric distribution component: if there is something to distribute like built space area or anything like that which requires a bounded distribution over network locations, according to some sort of network measures(with Cheetah you have pedestrian accessibility measures available), you may use this component. With this component you can control the spread and shape of a distribution by changing the "p" value and the number of steps.
Thanks for the reply. How can i save the Cheetah components as user object components? Can you please explain? I am not really a pro at this platform. Moreover, i am attaching screenshots of errors i am experiencing while using the gh file. I think first one is because i am using an old version of grasshopper, i am not really sure about second. Please confirm.
Samane, Thank you for your kind reply. Your explanation and the video you provided made a lot of sense, and it much clearer now. I would only like to ask you what p value stands for in polycentric distribution? I get the effect it has on the calculation, but how would you explain it in terms of real life usage?
I am also TU Delft student, currently doing MSc 3, and I plan to use your definition of walk-ability and your script (slightly changed and adapted), giving credit to you. If that is ok with you and Pirous
Strange thing is that your provided example is working, while my is not. I have tried redrawing street network, extending even more terrain, nothing seems to work
Good to hear that the video and explanations were of help. Of course it is alright with Pirouz and me to use Cheetah for your project with proper attribution.
I tried to download your file but the access was denied. Can you attach it again?
it is a .rar file, I hope this site allows using it...
Maybe to give a heads up, I found that the problem is with the street network, since I have taken your example, applied my terrain and it worked well. Any help would be appreciated
It is very important to provide Cheetah's inputs with proper inputs. There were some mistakes in your file:
1- In your street network, there was one street with length equal to 0.
2_ 10 blocks (block curves) were not closed; they were tiny lines and not closed polygons
3- The number of weights should be equal to attraction points' count, you had 3 attraction points but 30 weights!
4-The final result of network analysis is a data-tree of distances, containing lists of distances corresponding to the attraction points as bases of calculations. I did not understand why you provided the tree branch input with weights! That was the mistake.
I edited your file and everything is working properly. If you give me your email address I can send it to you.
I was in a hurry this morning, therefore, I found a way around - I've redrawn all of the streets, and it worked. It doesn't seem to have any troubles with the other issues you've mentioned.
thank you for your effort and your time, you it is highly appreciated

Hello
does anyone knows why this error appears when I open Cheetah in Grasshopper (0.9.0056), with the supplied 3dm example file:
Error (BC30456): 'epsilonequals' is not a member of 'Rhino.Geometry.Line'. (line 160)
or
Error (BC30456): 'epsilonequals' is not a member of 'Rhino.Geometry.Point3d'. (line 233)
It seems not to work for me... :(
