thank you for all the great input i received via mail. i've been on vacation the last weeks, that's why there hasn't been any new release. The next release will support surfaces as an input for most of the elements and also a Family/Type loader to make it easier to select correct family names. And then moving the project Open Source because there are many great feature requests I cannot handle with my limited amout of time.
the latest version automatically creates IDs for Grevit objects, the update mode is turned on by default and the Grevit client in Revit/ACA closes automatically after receiving data.
thank you for your feedback, the issue is caused by the SortCurves method in Revit so it might be an issue of unsupported geometries in the outline of a slab or sth similiar you are trying to send. please send me your gh file to support AT grevit DOT net.
seems there are not many questions or things to discuss? Well one thing about the Vasari Plugin: Vasari still seems to be quite unstable and the API doesn't support many things. I'm stillw aiting for updates from Autodesk - so far nothing happens.
Hello, how to get grevit to work for the metric system. I am outside of USA and everything is metric here. Should I scale everything I do in Grasshopper before sending to Revit?
I have had some success with Grevit. I really like the plug in. What I like about it is that unlike Hummingbird, Which I also like (but unfortunately stopped developing) Grevit elements transfer ALL at once so it is easy to undo the tranfer. Great job. Floors work so well everytime. by the way I didnt quite get how room component works- how come there not no xyz input? and how is it possible to transfer all the rooms on different levels when in revit its only possible to insert rooms on each level from the plan views?
Hi I i need to solve a problem trying to export from rhino to revit with grevit. I have a parametric facade and i need to export to revit. When grevit connects to revit it fail and said this:
"Revit could not complete the external command. Contact the provider for assistance. Information they provided to revit about their identity: MTT"
Sort of, ancient holiday. Not curtain wall panels per se, but using adaptive components you can do what you're aiming for. Alternatively, as ACs aren't always a good thing, I've had recent success exporting the glass as a wall (or other 3D object) and using Lyrebird to place each mullion as a family. Happy to share more if this sounds appealing.
I agree with Rasmus. Great work to address interoperability between GH & Revit but the Update feature not working is a huge achilles heal, especially if you have tags and dims attached to those elements in Revit. Has there been any development to fix this problem?
If so, do you have any plans to release the code so that others can continue developing it?
Works great, except update feature. Do you think you could help me? I 'read your comments on Food for Rhino on shared GID parameter, but I could still not get it to work.

got a feedback that the current implementation supports a maximum of 22800 components per transaction (thanks to Luke).

A transaction or sub-transaction was opened but not closed. All changes to the active document made by External Command will be discarded.

I am having similar issues. Is it a port or IP issue that could be causing this. See included screenshots for error message.

Hi,
you have to scale geometry or values before you send them (*3.28 or sth.). I am not handling it internally yet.

Is metric conversion something I can add internally when the project becomes open source?

Of course, and a lot more. I am currently documenting the code.

Hi Max,
I am having some issues when transferring adaptive components points into revit.
It gives me an error for every component.
Can't make type "FIN 4 point_acr02 : A1".
This is after setting the family name (FIN 4 point_acr02) and the type name (A1) I want to add.
I have tried creating the types on the Revit family before importing, but the result is the same.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Albert

Thanks

Hello,
I have a recollection that Grevit was an open source project. Is it possible to download the Grevit libraries on GitHub?

Hi team Grevit.
Just want to say - Great work :) This is really exiting, one of the most seamless transfers I have tried.
Once the "update" function works complete it will be very nice.
Have you been thinking about adding transfer the other way as well? E.g. transfer data about Revit elements to Grasshopper?
Best regards.
Rasmus

I have tried example 3&6 you shared. but i keep on getting these errors
A transaction or sub-transaction was opened but not closed. All changes to the active document made by External Command will be discarded.
Can u tell me why this is happening? (Revit 2015,Rhino 5, GH 0.9)
