Hi everyone! I'm new to grasshopper and really hope someone can help me out there.
Does anyone know of a way that I could take a rhino surface and overlay a grid of points onto the surface and then get a list of all the points with all there (x,y,z) values in grasshopper?

There's a great practice definition on pg. 84 of the Grasshopper Primer. With a bit of tweaking it should do exactly what you want.
It works in fact by dividing the surface into the required number of divisions, then at the U V intersections a point can be located.
Its a great exercise to use to start getting familiar with how GH works...
