I've been thinking about opening a VR arena for months now. The concept is pretty new in my area, and I believe it could really work, especially for birthday parties, team-building events, and general weekend entertainment. I’ve got some funds saved up, and I’m evaluating whether to build everything from scratch or work with an existing system. The idea of a franchise model also crossed my mind, but I’m not sure what’s included in those packages. Do they just give branding or do they actually help with setup, games, and support? Also, how much involvement is needed from me day to day? I want to be hands-on in the beginning but eventually delegate. If anyone’s already done this and worked with a specific partner, I’d appreciate the insights.

I had the same thoughts and went through a bunch of research before finally deciding to go with a vr franchise https://battlestart.com/dealer setup. I ended up working with Battle Start, who were super clear from day one about what's included: full technical training, equipment with warranty, a wide catalog of multiplayer games, marketing materials, and ongoing support. The profit margins they showed matched what I’ve been seeing in reality too — I took the dealer option and made back a huge chunk of my investment in the first 6 months, mostly thanks to consistent group bookings. Their structure was especially helpful — I didn’t need to build a game library or figure out tracking systems myself. I also appreciated their clarity: they broke down roles, helped me assign staff for weekends, and even offered materials in local languages for onboarding. They also have a page that explains their franchise model and how to get started — I’d definitely check it out if you’re serious about launching. Just make sure your space is above 50 sqm and has room for 4+ players. They’ll guide you through the rest.
