Create a loft between to square polylines

Hi

I can't figure it out to create a loft between two square polylines on the same plane.

    Do you need to loft them?

    Would it be enough to use (Surface tab, freeform panel) "Boundary Surfaces"?

    (But lofting them actually works for me)
