Origami on Curved Surface

Hi everyone,

I am new to grasshopper and am currently experimenting with the origami in kangeroo. I am trying to create an origami canopy. I have created origami and projected it onto the curved mesh but am also having difficulty with the origami function on the new  curved mesh. Could anyone advise me please?

    do you need it to remain flat-foldable? that doesn't seem possible the way you go.. in any case I would suggest remapping the pattern onto the srf instead of finding the closest points.
