Question on Deconstruct and Construct Domain

Dear All

Sorry for the stupid question, I am working on the Data Tree exercise Chapter in the New Primer Edition and I got stuck on the purpose of Deconstruct and Construct domain as circled in Red on the attached image.

Would anyone be so kind to advise me on what are their purposes in this tutorial please?

    They are deconstructing the domain, extracting the U subdivision of a Surface, passing it into a Graph Mapper to change the subdivision, and rebuilding surface with new values. The blue highlighted box (see attachment) is a pretty good description if you are familiar with the ghx lingo. I tried to explain it without simply repeating explanation.
