I'm more interested in seeing how I can generate something more elaborate of established geometry, and this gives me a very easy starting point.  After fussing for hours making little flowery things to gain prominent control over these fairly basic shapes and attempting to generate a definition that would allow me to have basic platonic solids, I stumbled across these little components.  Long story short, it made some things pretty easy.  Just Pop it in and go.
