I am very grateful for your reply, I solved the problems above and I have already done various Ladybug tutorial, as you suggested:)
However, I still have not been able to solve a fundamental issue: how to calculate the shaded surface area (numerically and not just graphically), even when more shadows intersect each other?
I did find tutorials not enough clear about it. Could you give me some suggestion on this topic?
From your link, I've understood that maybe the file example "Vector Based Shadow Study" ( https://urly.it/21yng ) was good for my purpose. So, I implemented the same procedure for my urban domain but unfortunately I can not see the shadows on the ground (look at the two red components in the screenshot). The same thing happens when I run the file exemple on my computer, shadows are not visible because they are not projected. Do you have another precious advice on this argument?

Hi Martina!
I really suggest you to have a look to this plug-in:
http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/ladybug
there are lots of tutorials;
for the geo-localization there is a fabulous map that collects all the EPW file at http://www.ladybug.tools/epwmap/
Hope it helps

Of course, Ernesto!
I posted (grh and 3md...cause my geometry is not visible in the grh)...
The LadyBug says that error is in the "Data Conversion failed from Mesh to Curve".
It depends of geometry?Too complex buildings?
I tried with a more simple model (just one building) and I have the same problem.
What can I do?
Thanks for you interest!
