Information

VisualARQ Grasshopper Components

VisualARQ Grasshopper Components allows to create and work with VisualARQ architectural objects inside Grasshopper.

You can create easily walls, doors, windows, openings, beams, columns, roofs, slabs, stairs and railings and obtain their information (area, volume, length, etc...)

Once the VisualARQ geometry is baked, it turns into workable VisualARQ objects inside Rhino. Then you can use the VisualARQ features to create section drawings, floor plans, schedule tables, etc.. and export the full model in IFC file format into BIM platforms such as Revit, ArchiCAD, Tekla, etc...

The VisualARQ Grasshopper Components are automatically installed when installing VisualARQ.

VisualARQ objects Pipeline available in VisualARQ 2.5!

Comment by Francesc Salla on April 12, 2019 at 5:57am

Hello all, since VisualARQ 2.4 version it is possible to generate section views directly from Grasshopper. This allows automatic creation of the facades of a project (https://youtu.be/0aZe3db6nfA) or the Section drawings of a room (https://youtu.be/450sDZCBqkY)

Hi all,

There is a new version of the VisualARQ Grasshopper Components available: WIP4

This new release requires VisualARQ 1.9: (http://blog.visualarq.com/2015/05/08/visualarq-1-9-available/)

New features of VA-GH Components WIP4:

  • General properties (Name, Tag, Description...) on VisualARQ objects can be modified.
  • Added "Space Param" and "Deconstruct Profile" components.
  • Doors, windows and openings can be inserted in Curtain Walls.
  • Doors, windows and openings can be inserted freely with no need to be attached to a wall or a curtain wall.
  • Added the option to get the sizes list from any object style (image below).

Hi Connie,

Right now it is not possible to put names on Spaces components. We'll try to make it possible in the next version release.

Spaces can't be displayed in vertical sections since they are planar representations on the XY plane. In the next VisualARQ 1.9 version you will be able to create slab styles, if you want to do that workaround.

If you meant spaces in horizontal sections, as soon as you bake the space component, you will see its hatch pattern according to its attributes settings defined by the space style.

Hi Francesc,

Another question, is it possible to see spaces in section as hatches?

As a workaround I was going to create slab styles but it doesn't look like I can, is it possible to edit slab styles?

this has the potential to be a very great tool,

regards

Hi Francesc,

I am trying to name a space in my grasshopper script. Is this possible?

Hi all,

You can see in the following video how to split a VisualARQ beam in different parts using a simple definition.

Hi Fernando, the VisualARQ GH Components WIP 3 is still not released. It will be available in food4rhino when VisualARQ 1.8 is released too, in a few days.

Regards,
