Help.

If you need help using a component, or you need advice on how to do something about jewelry in Grasshopper, you can post a discussion in this group. Tutorials are coming.

Bugs.

These components may contain small bugs, are usually easy to detect the cause and fix them. Please, if you find any, notify me with the ghfile to dga_3@hotmail.com.
If you need the fixed component, I can send it if you ask me. Otherwise, the correction will be added in the next release.

Wishes.

If you think would be useful to change something of a component, you can notify me via email or post a discussion, for example title "Component prongs should have fewer inputs". Consider whether you need to open a discussion or better send me an email.

New components.

If you have an idea for a new component, you can post a discussion in this group. It may be just a wish or be accompanied by a proposed definition. If you do not want to publish the content of the definition, have a private discussion with me via email.

To propose new components, we should follow rules. At the beginning of the title of the discussion, you should put "NCP -" (New Component Peacock)

Developers.

If you want to participate in the development of Peacock, must share with me via email three new useful components. I reserve the option to choose collaborator. These components will be owned and have their name while 50% of the original script is not modified.
Being developer supposed to know the password of all components. Personally, I would rather share the components as open, but I need to custody my work for now.

Hello,

Can anyone help me with getting a custom size for an oval shapped stone. Im using the GemStudio button and when I enter two numbers for the size, I just get two stones.  I need my stone to be 5.1mm x 4.2mm. The standard size I am getting when I enter 5.1 as the number is 5.1mm x 3.17mm (or something close to that). Which is nowhere near what I need.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Hi Daniel! I'm wondering how to set up the "Prong" parameter.

I understand it is for prong position, but have no idea what are those numbers meaning.

The original is

:{0;0}
0.125
0.375
0.625
0.875

and when I connected it that all prongs crunched to 1 side.

If I want to make evenly 4 prongs, what parameter should I use?

Thank you!

Hello Daniel,

thank you for your answer, also another question: is there a way to define the width for the baguettes when using the gems by curve tool?

I'm supporting you on patreon, are there any tutorials for peacock?

Hi Samuel,

what you see is the result of the intersection of the geometry display by the Metal Preview and the Rhino viewer, you should hide one of them.

hi, Daniel

ribbon-surface.3dmI am a fine jewellery designer, and I tried to use this plug in for paving stone, each stone doesnt have distance or only under 0.1mm,

to surface edge there should be at least 0.3mm distance,

I want to ask the function for pave on surface,

is not possible to pave on surface on the surfaces like this?

I tried to use function with pave between 2 crvs using iso lines to do this , but it's still hard to fit my require that I have to pave them manually.

do you have alternative solution for this as well?
thank you

Hi xlxdesign,

you need the latest version of gh (0.9.0076). The latest version has changed the Clean Tree component.
If persist, ssend me an image of error notification to dga_3@hotmail.com.

Regards.

About the Component Variable Offset,everytime I use it,a pop-up window comes out saying" clean tree is unrecognized".And the result is the component can't works.

Hope for your reply, Thanks a lot!

Please add a discussion for consultations.

Hi Sandra,

as you can read on Size_param description or in the component description, the current release uses European Gauge (in all rings components). This is Radius = (size+40)/(2*Pi), where "size" is the value to give, it's usually used in countries like Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland... The next release will have 6 ways (5 regional system + diameter) to give it the size in different regional systems with just two clicks, in fact, the rings of the next release are already developed, but will have to wait...

Knowing that:

ISO (International Organization for Standardization). mm of internal circunference. Austria, France, Germany, Belgium, Scandinavia...

radii = Size / (2 * Math.PI)

European Size. Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland...
radii = (Size + 40) / (2 * Math.PI)

British Size. United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa...
radii = ((Size * 0.4) + 11.5) / 2

American Size. United States, Canada, Mexico...
radii = ((Size * 0.83) + 11.54) / 2

Japanese Size. Japan, China, India, South America...
radii = ((Size / 3) + 12.67) / 2

Diameter Size. Many goldsmiths anywhere.

radii = Size / 2

Source: http://www.18carat.co.uk/ringsizes.html

and since this release are UserObject componentes, you can remplace if you want the Size component with one new. For example, right clicking size_param, going to Expresion and setting x*pi-40, the size input will be the diameter of the resulting circle, if you give it a value of 14, the circle will have a radius of 7. Then save the userobject (File>Create User Object) and remove the other.

Or create a new one, since this component is just a rotated circle and a cylinder.

Hope this helps.
