Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

I am writing for some informations about the installation process of MapWinGis. I downloaded and installed the version 4.9.4.2 from the Github folder but does not work. I already tryed to disinstall and install it over and over again but without any good result.

Any suggestion about this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Angelo,

Can you be a bit more specific on what does not work?
Which specific issue do you have?

Hi Djordje,

Thank you for your availability.

The red baloon says "

{0;0}
0. This component requires the "MapWinGIS" application to be installed in order for it to work.

For some reason it seems that "MapWinGIS" is installed but its install folder ("C:\dev\MapWinGIS") does not contain all the necessary files.
Close Rhino. Uninstall the MapWinGIS application. Then install it again.

If after this, you still get this same message please post a question about this issue at:
http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/gismo/forum."

Hi Angelo,

Can you please post a screenshot of the whole message that goes out from the "Gismo Gismo" component's readMe! parameter? Like this:

I would be grateful if you could also post the following information:

1) which Rhino version, service release and which bit version
(in Rhino, choose Help -> About Rhinoceros)
2) which Grasshopper version
(look at the bottom right corner of your Grasshopper window)
3) which ghpython version
(open an empty ghpython component, or any Gismo component and look at its bottom right corner)
4) which Windows operating system and which bit version
(example: Windows 8.1, 64 bit)
5) which MapWinGIS 4.9.4.2 bit version: Win32 or x64?

Hi Djordje,

this is the setting that i am currently using:

1) Rhino Version 5 SR9 64bit

2) Gh 0.9.0076

3) Py 0.6.0.3

4) Windows 10

5) MapWinGIS 4.9.4.2 for x64

Attached you can find the screenshot.

Thank you for the provided information!

For some reason it seems that one of the MapWinGIS assemblies can not be loaded.

Can you tell me what is the size in megabytes of your c:\dev\MapWinGIS folder?

Maybe even post a screenshot of your c:\dev\MapWinGIS folder?

Also can you shut down both Grasshopper and Rhino, then start them again, and open the file attached below. Put a screenshot of the message which goes out from component's readMe! output.

Hi Djordje,

Again, thanks for trying to solve the problem.

The size of the folder c:\dev\MapWinGIS folder is about 64 mb.

Attached all the informations that you required before.

Thank you once again for the provided information Angelo!

I do not speak Italian, but judging by Google Translate your system for some reason is not allowing a single assembly to be loaded.

Can you please right click on a file: Interop.MapWinGIS.dll in your c:\dev\MapWinGIS folder, and check if it is blocked:

Right click on it, and choose "Properties". If there is an "Unblock" button click on it, and then click on "OK". If there is no "Unblock" button, just click on "OK".

Unfortunatly, it isn't blocked... seems that there is no solution at this particular problem. I can only try to disinstal and instal it again.

Okay. Maybe some other .dll file is blocked, which is required for the  Interop.MapWinGIS.dll file to work. Try checking all .dll files in both the c:\dev\MapWinGIS and c:\dev\MapWinGIS\gdalplugins folders. Right click on each on them, and check if they are blocked.

Hi Angelo,
Did you check if one of the other .dll files in the c:\dev\MapWinGIS and c:\dev\MapWinGIS\gdalplugins folders is blocked?
If none of them were blocked, we can try something else.

Hi Djordje,

I checked all the .dll files into the folder. All seems to be ok! I also disinstal and instal again Gismo...nothing changed!

Do you have any other suggestion?
Thank you again.

Angelo
