algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Djordje,

When I wanna make a mapping of Melbourne by using Gismo, I got this problem. I send you the screenshot and maybe it would be clearer. This is my first time to use Gimso and I have downloaded the MapWinGIS version 4.9.6.1 x64. My laptop is Win10 x64. Waiting for your reply. Thank you!

With regards,

Zecong

Hi Djordje,

There is still an error. I suppose my OSM shape has error as well.

Close Rhino, and then delete everything from your "C:\gismo\osm_files" folder.

Then download this file from the attachment.
Right-click on it, and "unblock" it.
Copy it it your "C:\dev\MapWinGIS\gdal-data" folder.

Then follow steps 2,3,4 from this reply. In that reply a different MapWinGIS folder is mentioned, while yours is: "C:\dev\MapWinGIS".

Open Rhino and run "week2b.gh" file again.

Thank Gods! thanks Djordje!

Finally it works!!!

BTW I wanna know what you added or changed in the week2b. Are there something wrong operations I did in week2.gh?

Hi Zecong,
I am glad to hear that!
I added the "OSM keys" component. It is always recommended to use it with "OSM shapes" component.
Check this example file to see how "OSM keys" input needs to be defined based on the type of geometry you are looking for. For example in your last screenshot you should have "Roads" as the input of the "OSM keys", instead of "Buildings".

Hi Djordje,

Thanks again for everything!

Do you have any Gismo instruction for me to learn how to use? I think this is a really good plugin!

We don't have any video tutorials.
You look through the example files, in order to understand how to perform certain tasks in Gismo:
