Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Here i have broken up a surface into 36 different panels, at which point i have been trying to manipulate each panel individually. Here i have extruded the panel (1, in green, left) out to a point shown on the (right) in the grasshopper script. I was wondering if there is a way to do this but isntead of having a triangulated surface out to this extrusion point but rather for the new extruded surface to actually be a smooth surface. I cannot figure out what i'm missing in order to try and make this extrusion "smooth" Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Second question:

In Rhino a surface can be manipulated quite easily by control points or by using the command soft edit. After messing around in grasshopper for quite some time now i couldnt figure out how to manipulate the surface in grasshopper through control points. Here is an image of what i have setup so far, basically have control points set up then i have isolated one point and moved it in the x direction but the surface has not reacted to this move. What am i missing?

 Thank you in advance.

Hi Eric!

I´m not really sure what you meant with question 1. But I think I can help you with your second question. Basically the problem is that you have to build a new surface from your set of modified points. The translated point in your definition is just a copy of the original control point and doesn´t affect the surface.

Cheers,

Frank
