Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Has anybody tried to select mesh faces by area on Grasshopper ?

Thanks,

Hi Arthur,

I have no idea whether this is the best way to achieve this but by using the new string components in GH v0.7 I have created surfaces to measure the area with and then produce a culling pattern to select the faces with the right criteria for a new mesh.

Note that if the example looks wrong it is because the mesh is created using a point spherical cloud and therefore the 2d representation of size is not indicative to the actual area of each face. I should have flattened the points first.
You could decompose the mesh faces, extract the verticies, and use [Srf4Pt] to rebuild the faces as surfaces (just as Danny did).

For some reason [Decompose Mesh Faces] doesn't seem to be functioning properly in GH 0.7.

I thought I wasn't applying it incorrectly, glad to see I'm not going mad.
I guess I'll let David know too...
