algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I think it would be kind of handy to be able to use the scroll wheel on your mouse to change slider values. Maybe there could be a "scroll wheel" toggle option in the slider's right click menu. Then whenever you have the cursor over the slider (or a certain portion of the slider?) your scroll wheel will increment values. This would be nice especially for mice with wheels that "click" so maybe one click could cause one value increment (which might be nicer than double clicking and typing the exact number you want, especially if you have to do it repeatedly).

It does raise the issue of not being able to zoom in while hovering over this component, but you could simply move your mouse off of it to zoom. I would even settle for holding a button while hovering over in order to initiate the wheel slider feature (although it would be nice to not have to).

Would anyone use this?

Yep, I would support this initiative.  I do think you have to introduce another mouse event to prevent accidental parameter change while navigating the canvas.  I wouldn't mind holding down the right mouse button while scrolling... seems more natural than using the left.

I like the idea but with ctrl+scroll combination... imagine accidentally changing value in "heavy" def, that would be irritating.

Yeah I was thinking control scroll too. The right mouse button works for me too but that's already right click, so I dont know how that would work.

Actually I was just thinking... I think the best way to do it would be to have a "scroll to increment" toggles accessible in the right click menu (like I mentioned before) but then instead of holding control or right click, just select the slider and then scroll. That way you could avoid accidentally incrementing values while zooming in on/navigating your definition, but wouldn't be forced to do some other action while scrolling. I'm not sure if you would still need to hover over it or not... The only problem I could see if no hover is also required is if you are done incrementing and want to zoom out, you would have to deselect the slider (just by clicking off of it). But this isn't really a big deal, especially since the user would be aware of it (since they would have enabled the toggle).

I still stand for ctrl button... For someone used to interface as much as me, this is to big change in workflow... and adding something to rightclick menu should be avoided now, as this menu gets longer and longer - maybe middle-button radial menu ?
