Hi, im really new to grasshopper and ive been trying to simply repeat this curve a number of times, preferably on a slider so that it can be continuous.
I have duplicated the curve 7 times but have only been able to shift one of them (or 6, im not sure)
I want to eventually create the structure in the second grasshopper image which is part of a tutorial...
What you are doing is duplicating the curves in one place and then asking GH to move them all the same distance. Try creating a Series with a step interval of 5 and the number in the series 7 and plugging this into your Y vector this will create multiple translation vectors for your move component. Because the move component copies the original geometry you are effectively duplicating it anyway.
Hi danny,
thanks for your quick reply.
I tried your way but got confuest as to where to insert the Y vector and also the gemoetry.
I managed to seperate them a different way, but how do i control the distance between each curve?
I tried doing what you wrote but since im not using circles its a little tricky. How do i make this shape follow all the way round the long curve?
Once i do that I would like to loft it. If you can show me that too i will be very greatful!
also, if its not too much hassel, if u could make notes explaining what uve done would be AMAZING!!
Ok :)
- First of all you need to take the point ON your initial curve.
create point in GH -> right click on point -> set point
to connect directly the new point to a specific point on the curve set in the Rhino command line "Type=Curve" and not "Type=point" then click on the desired point on your curve
now you can use the point like I used the circle center ;)
