Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey everyone. I'm new to Grasshopper and this may be a dumb question. But is their any way to create line work from reaction diffusion using millipede? i.e instead of a mesh growing, simple curves begin to grow and branch. Thank you guys!

It is not a dumb question but it has quite nothing to do with Grasshopper or Millipede, they are tools. First  you could begin to read the script (I wrote). The third dimension is time, you could do the same in 2D, not to difficult to write and instead of Isosurface you will use Mesh Iso Contour so trying to resume from this script to what you want :

Transform Laplacian in 2D => Laplacian in 1D

Values in 2D => Values in 1D

Isosurface => Mesh Iso Contour

You could also use a 3d program to simulate 2D :

Instead of pixel on image draw lines and cut the mesh you will obtain a plane. I don't know if I am clear and what is your level in Math ?

Hi Laurent. Thank you first off for sharing your script!! And then thank you for getting back to my question. I think I do understand what your suggesting, and am going to give it a try today! And after using grasshopper now I'm not even sure what my level of math is any more haha.
