project objects on a surface in a pattern and let them align

Hello,

I have created 4 objects, which I want to project on a surface.

I have a surface divided in boxes, and dispatched this two times. 

I want that the objects have a pattern, on one row it is ABABAB and on the other row CDCDCD.

I tried to do this (see attachment) but it doesn't work how I want. The objects doesn't touch eachother and have a different pattern than ABAB and CDCD.

Can anybody see what I am doing wrong?
