Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm trying to pleate a surface

however I am having trouble connecting the lines perpendicular to the interpolated lines between the initial curves. I've been trying to follow an online tutorial http://livecomponents-ny.com/2009/09/21/4-1-horizontal-folding/#com...

but the item component doesn't seem to work like the tute, and there are apparently no paths present to interpolate a curve through.

Any helps would be amazingly appreciated

cheers

You had the path input correctly connected but the tree data was wrong.  I didn't look at the tutorial but this will probably get you going again.  Post again if yo're still having problems.

Thank so much Chris, definitely enabled me to progress. The new lines that were drawn aren't lofting between each other.. they are finding another line to loft to (the lowest z point seemingly). Does the tree data somehow have a reference point. it makes no sense that it would (or could).

Thanks again for your help, I really appreciate it.

Here's what I get for a solution.  I'm inclined to look through the whole definition as it can probably be revised to be simpler but I don't have the time for it today.  Based on what you've done though the curves need to all have the same direction for the loft to work as you're expecting it too.  It was hit and miss to find the right curve to use as a guide curve which you can see if you change the choice.
