algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I think it would be very useful if there is a description widget(it shows like the profiler widget)

Let every component have an description property, and if we turn the description widget on,

there will be displayed the desciption like the profiler widget does...

It's like a small tool tip having user-specified description about the component.

How does it sound?

That would be a really nice widget to have, and probably not that hard to program, right?

Maybe on top of the component, to avoid interference with the profiler?
Yeah, it could be nice.
When would you use this widget, viewing of someone else's definition or all the time? Do you use txt or icon views for your components?
It will be useful for both cases. It can add small explanation about the function or purpose of each component. Even though I made the whole model myself, if it is huge, it is not so easy somewhat later to understand the model in detail. It will remind me why I used those component in those places and for what purpose. I agree when I use txt view I can assign a proper name to components, but it is too simple.
I see now, its not a generic description for a component that you want to say what it does but a user defined description that resembles comments in programming. You could use the scribble feature or an unconnected panel to keep notes alongside components or even the title bar of a group would resemble the profiler widget.
We have all used floating text panels, and you are right about the title bar of a group, it's quite useful.

But an on/off 'post-it' add-on to the components, just as you turn profiler widget on and off would be really useful, as it is a clear solution rather than the panels.
I'm convinced, count me in.
Great! Another fella! hehehe...
