Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a way to get the connectivity of a line network (grid etc.) to a list like the (face) connectivity of a mesh? I have many lines connected to one another which I would like to manipulate using their nodes.. I can move the end points and reconnect but it gets ver tricky as each node has many doubles because it is connects many lines. I just want to move specific nodes and have the network stay the in the same connectivity. perhaps there is a component for this?

Thanks Tom. I agree its always better to build shapes from a parametric order but for experimenting with various patterns its sometimes a real pain..

as for using meshes.. if you have 3d patterns such as a space truss the meshing algorithm doesn't know the current connectivity and get mashed up. sometimes I could use this mashed up mesh and extract its edges because I don't care about the faces but never the less, in complex cases it dismisses alot of lines.

Hi.

Try to use "Sandbox Topology" plugin. Best.

thanks alot, will check it out
