Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

The minimal surface plugin for grasshopper has been updated to work with 0.7006 version of grasshopper and been updated to use the RhinoCommon SDK. you can find it in the download section as usual. (www.cerver.org)

more importantly the Icons were updated to adhere to Davids strict standards (i hope!)

Thanks Robert. I really like your minimal surface plugin. I hope it will be completely integrated into GH soon. The icons look great.
thanks. what do you mean by completely integrated?
that your plug-in will be part of GH and has not to be installed separately. I guess Davis is deciding this...

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your minimal surface plugin. It makes things so much simpler. I have a question however, When i used the Minimal Surface from 2 closed curves, How can I adjust the broadness or thickness of the body? Or I cant be able to do anything bout it?

Thank you.

i do not fully understand your question, can you post an image perhaps.

Maybe you are looking for this?

Cheers!

that is what i was thinking, but you must realize that when you play with that value its not a "true" minimal surface. but i gave you that control for this exact reason.

but you do not want to adjust the uv value you want to adjust "I",  set I = 0 for true minimal surface, set it to anything else to play with how much the surface is relaxed.

Yes, you are right. But on the other hand depending on the stiffness ratio between surface u and v directions the minimal surface changes it's shape. And that is what is predominantly happening by changing the U and V values in your great plugin. Setting "I" to 0 gives (in my example) almost no noticeable change in the shape.

However, I hope at least some of this helps Barry.

This is really helpful and I am getting what I wanted to.

I am really thankful for your advices. Thank you very much!.

Regards,

Barry
