algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all,
I would like to project/map the electric field pattern onto a 3D surface without any distortions. I have tried with the normal method by using the mapsurface tool but without success. Any ideas of how I can do it? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

attach your files to help you, what you mean without distortion?
Thanks for the quick reply Erick! I now attached the rhino and grasshopper files.
In terms of the mean of distortion, what I want to achieve is to map the electric field pattern to a 3D geometry without much stretching. In other word, I want the pattern to look exactly the same on the 3D geometry as it is on 2D flat surface.
I guess my problem is quite similar to this:

Hi Erick,
Yes, this is exactly what I am looking for! Thank you so much for you help.
But I don't quite get what the reparameterize does in here, would you mind to give me a clue?
I have baked the geometry so It is a solid object now.
if you don't reparameterized, you should work with the initial domains, is easier to work with 0-1 in u and v, also you can play with Reverse uv directions of a surface from lunchbox.
Thank you so much Erick! This is exactly what I am after, really appreciated for your help :)!!
Hi Erick,
Is there any ways I could map the pattern to the whole geometry? At the moment, i could only map to the top half surface (I guess it is the domain issue but I don't know how to fix it) and I am really stuck..any clues will be appreciated!
Hi Hiro, you can use Contour Mesh Field from Milipide, check Angel Linares's contribution about fields over surface.
