is it possible to bake the co-ordinates of geometry to the stage?

Hi

I know you can stream co-ordinates to an external file - but I'm looking for a way to take something "mid-stream" and though it may be referencing geometry somehow capture its data and keep it on stage. If it's not possble, I can obviously just stream to a file and bring that data back in...but it would be nice if there were a more immediate way..
