algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello Everyone,
I have having some trouble with the script I am trying to write. I was able to write a script that created the stepped grid that I wanted with most of the parameters that I wanted to include. The one thing that I did not like about it was that no matter the adjustments I made it was still a regular grid (all the boxes inside each gird were of the same dimensions with respect to the x or z axis).
After going through some of the discussions on here I found a script that created the irregular grid box sizes that I wanted. I attempted to update my old script with the new grid start parameters with varied success. I was able to create the Y-axis components fairly successfully. The script performs properly when the number sliders for the x dimension, z dimension, x uneven grid spacing, and z uneven grid spacing are set to 10 and most of the other numbers. However, there appears to be some abnormalities when the sliders are in certain positions ( I can not find a pattern to the abnormalities either to attempt to resolve this issue). If someone could please help me with this issue it would be greatly appreciated!
The second issue I am having is when I copy and move the irregular grid to its next position I am unable to trim the excess lines ( my older script, the red grouped script, shows what I am trying to achieve with the trimmed lines and then extruded).
I apologize if my script is long and redundant I am new to grasshopper and this was the only solution I could come up with to create what I wanted. If anyone has suggestions on how to shorten my script it would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Andrew
