Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

i can't find the "point xyz" component or the "curve" object components in drop down menu

hello

i just downloaded the latest grasshopper - and am following a tutorial that instructs making an object curve to input from a series of points. When using the drop down menu to search for components, I can neither find the "Point xyz" (with inputs x,y,z & s) or the "curve" object (with inputs V, D & P). I have attached a link to the tutorial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jfzud8r45TI&list=WLUPOvmPN6CvgG...

I've shown a screen grab from the tutorial of "Point xyz" on the drop down

When i type "XY", the drop down list appears, but there is no "point xyz" listed, only "construct point". That component does not have the same inputs...

A similar problem occurs in the next step of the tutorial when i'm trying to build a curve object. My drop down menu does not offer the same component as in the tutorial. The tutorial was published two years ago. Did the software change this much? how should i proceed?

Thanks!

Pont xyz has been renamed [construct point] in your version of the search the it is the fourth one up with the same icon.

Curve is now [nurbs curve]

thanks danny

the xyz point component no longer has an input 's'. is that correct?

True, but the Point Oriented has a "P" (Plane) input

I'm just getting x, y and z. no other inputs listed inside the point component

I meant Point Oriented component, over here:

thank you.... i'm brand new in this. I only know a little bit of rhino (which is great and relatively easy i think). I definitely need a grasshopper teacher & can't find anyone in south africa yet...

Pieter, if you hold down ctrl+shift+alt and click on the component it saves the window for you so you dont have to do a screen grab

Thanks for the info Danny, that does look a bit nicer.
