algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I would like to spherify a Brep.
To make clear what shape I would like to create, I first tried it in 2D.

See attached screenshot.

The smooth curves are 4 BzSpans. The inputs are the midpoints of the line and vectors perpendicular to the lines.

How to create this in 3D. I would like to script this or can this be done in Grasshopper?

BTW, it is not the same as the fillet edge command in Rhino.

Is this like a UDT or SpaceMorph transformation?
If yes, you can probably implement your own SpaceMorph class and use a VB or C# script to deform the geometry.

I'm not entirely sure how the deformation inside the sphere would work, but I suppose points are pulled towards the sphere surface, where the distance travelled is somehow connected to their initial distance from the sphere shell.
