Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I am very new at Grasshopper so, you might find this answer a bit silly in a way.

Basically I have a set of data comprising of specific length of lines. I intend to somehow "mould" the lines into a "cube" or "box". Since I'm very new at this, I find it very very very complicated and I've wasted hours trying to figure out. Help is needed and would be much appreciated.

Attached are some print screens on my (slow) development.

How many edges and faces do you want the "box" to have?

How is it (logically speaking) that you imagine the points to behave after being entered into the Proximity component?  Also which inputs do you intend to adjust to obtain the action of "moulding"?

its very unclear on what your intent is, sketch an image of your desired result and post rhino + gh files.

I think the first thing we have to resolve is what you mean by a "cube".  Do you mean a six sided cube in the conventional sense as found in a pair of dice or do you mean a polyhedron of any number of faces?  Also are you expecting that with Grasshopper you will be able to take an assortment of different and apparently random length 'straws' and have Grasshopper assemble them into a polyhedron?
