algorithmic modeling for Rhino

How to create a dynamic variable slider for this model of tendril coiling?

Hi Everyone - attached is a rhino .3dm file and Gh corresponding file for a python script that simulates the curvature of tendril coiling. I'm also attaching a movie showing what happens when one of the angle parameters (in this case, angle b) is manually moved by using its slider.

Real tendrils seem to follow a generally similar algorithm (my goal is to get as close to modeling real tendril coiling behavior as possible), but I notice that the angle a and b parameter values seem to change in real time, during coiling.

So, what I want is something that works like how I imagine a dynamic variable slider would, one that has the option to adjust the parameter value to a new chosen or random value AND a clock/timer function where I can set a period and it would automatically change a parameter value by a set or random increment at each period/temporal phase.

Alternately, another way of getting this effect I suppose might be to copy the full script, as many times as I want to have the parameters change, and feed them in sequentially so that as the tendril "grows", the changing parameters will appear within a single tendril's full sequence.

If anyone has great ideas about how to simulate such a dynamic variable slider, however, I'd love to see them. I viewed other forum discussions about dynamic sliders but they don't seem to be the same as what I'm looking for.  Is a dynamic variable slider in the works?

Thanks!

Christina
