Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi there,

I have distributed an array of points across a surface and have managed to create a coloured mesh dependant upon the density of the points. My next step is to create height  across a surface dependant on the density of these points (determined by the colour of the mesh). What is the best way to do this?

I feel its a really simple question but i cannot find the solution to using the colour from the mesh to produce a height map (without, baking, exporting the jpeg of the coloured mesh and bringing back in as an image - which i'm also having trouble with!!)

Any help would be hugely appreciated, as always!

Thanks

Marc

You can use the [Split AHSV] component to take the hue/saturation/brightness and remap it to your choice to set the length of the vectors that will raise each vertex. And with the points moved, you create a new mesh.

Please advise when your definition needs plugins.

Daniel,

Thank you for your help, much appreciated. Sorry its taken until now, i was working to a deadline so was stressing about getting the work finished in time!!

Kind regards

Marc
