Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Dear everyone. David. I'm curious about the possibilities to get information (text + numbers) from GH displayed in the (active) Rhino viewport and make it's position fixed relative to the viewport. The Maxwell Render plugin for Rhino has this feature (see image below).

I'm using my hardware sliders and it would be nice to be able to see the numerical values in the viewport (when the grasshopper window is collapsed) as well as adding some information. Maybe something like this :)

Good idea, Mårten.

Has anyone tried using Firefly or gHowl to connect Grasshopper to a Na'vi avatar?

Ha ha! :D

Marten,

Some people have played with simpler HUD's, not sure if anyone has gotten real-time text to display:

Thanks for this link Taz, I realize this is tricky to do.

Perhaps alongside a future Remote control, there could be a gadget for displaying information in a separate window?

Also: Is there a way to completely hide the GH window?

Get a second monitor, put the Grasshopper window on there, then switch it off.

Thanks David. That's a good idea.
