Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

is it possible to adapt a sqGrid to a new reguirements?
the picture below show you what i want to do.
or there are certainly more elegant solutions?

it would be nice to get a response.

thanks

Hi Rassul,

By using the following components:

Params: Slider(2)

Math: Divide(2), Subtract, Mass Addition

Sets: Series(2), Merge, Shift List, Repeat Data(2), Flip Matrix(2), Null(2), Cull Pattern(2)

Vector: Point XYZ

Curve: Circle, Rectangle

Surface: Area

I was able to come up with this:

Instead of starting with a grid and whittling down, go the other way. Start with the first square of known dimensions and work up. (File attached if you need it)

hi danny,

it is always a plaseure...!

Very cool indeed, I'm fascinated by the progress of you tiling project.
dear danny,

currently my work is not especialy.
i just try to transfer some pattern-concepts
(with your supports and other talented guys)
into grasshopper.

if you are interested,
i can send you the finsh work.

i'm impressed about your ability
to solve complicated things.

by the way, can you implement the rassulgrid
in a radial form?

thanks

Not by the method I've used for the rectangle, but this goes some way towards replicating the Esher Pattern.

dear danny,

i try to figure out two possibilities

for triangle an rectangular tiling.

by the trinangle tiling there is the potential

to sort 6x triangle to get an hexagon pattern.

i'm not sure if i can solve this and create lines

between the sorted points. (:

thanks

I think the best bet's triangles using the delaunay component. You will need Weaver Bird as well to make this definition to work. http://www.grasshopper3d.com/profiles/blogs/weaverbird-mesh-topolog...

With Wb installed you can achieve some nice meshes based on the delaunay.

dear danny,

now it works! but not realy cool.

the intersection-points for voronoi are not symmetricaly.

do you have an idea?

thanks.

dear danny,

its great, and it is dannysradialgriddelauny. (:

sorry for one more question.

how do I create an incircle for each triangle.

thanks

There is an inEllipse Component in GH
