Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to make a "free form" brick wall in grasshopper and I would like to know if this wall is possible to make or, in other words, how can I know that the brick wall don't fall off. There is somekind of add-on for grasshopper that can simulate gravity?

Thanks in advance,

Manuel Oliveira

Yes there is. It's Kangaroo add-on.

Thanks Igor

Can you please tell me the command please, or somewhere I can find information about kangaroo?

It might also be useful to look at this paper :

I think it should be possible to simulate something like this in Kangaroo, but it will require some abstraction (maybe something like the right hand image above), as there is currently no rigid body collision.

Accurate simulation of block stacking is actually a surprisingly difficult problem - game and animation engines often use some tricks like sleeping and shock propagation to make stacks which can rest stably, but collapse believably. However they do this usually at the cost of realistic structural behaviour.

Thanks guys

Hi,

I have the same question to stack the bricks.

Can you explain a little bit how to do that?

I just start with kangaroo.

Thanks
