gaussian curvature tollerance for fabrication of developable surfaces

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone knows what the gaussian curvature tolerance is for fabrication of a developable surface.. I see that very small gaussian curvature values produce a rather large stretch.. 0.001 is still rather convex..at least for single curvature .

has anyone tried to messure this?thanx
