Galapagos: triggering the update of the fitness value

I originally posted this discussion in the FireFly Plugin Group, as it involves connecting GH to external devices, but it may be that the solution to the problem lies outside those particular components, so let me double post it here, "out in the open":

I have a problem with having Galapagos wait for an external procedure to end:

The setup is a very basic feedback loop:

The slider (genome) controls the rotation of the motor "arm", and the photoresistor feeds back the light intensity (fitness factor).

The goal is to have Galapagos find the optimal rotation of the arm corresponding to the brightest spot in the photoresistor's "orbit".

The problem is that it takes some time for the arm to rotate. Galapagos doesn't wait for it and takes the current photoresistor read-out as the fitness factor, which obviously produces bad results.

Is there any way to have GA wait for some other process to finish?
Any ideas are much appreciated.
