From GH Structure to DataTree

Hi all, 

I have been implementing scripts in the grasshopper interface and once the algorithms were working, I have tried to move on and develop real components based on those actual scripts. The problem is that I used DataTree a lot and I 've just found out I can't actually use them in Visual Studio, I need GH structure instead. My question is simple: Is there a way I can get the data (one of my input is a tree) using a Gh structure, convert this structure into a Data tree  like the ones I used in the GH interface and then manipulate the data like I used to previously? Or must I change the whole code?
