Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi

there are many tuts about how to flow a stiff pattern like an X over a curved surface.

However is there a tool which would allow to flow an X over a surface so it is bend over it?

I seem not to find such a function in the current version. I know that this might also
require some heavy calculation because the solid X has to be not only replicated and morphed into stiff boxes but also deformed along U and V.

I attached an image of my current state. The top view clear shows the issue
I have with the X shapes.

hi claas

most of the problems are already discussed but the real
problem is that most of the people don't use the search function in the discussion flyout and keep on posting the same things again and again... i hope this will change in the future!!!
by the way don't forget this program is still work in progress so the things keep on changing and some things vary from version to version so it is a little bit of difficult to post all the possibilities but i think with a little bit of searching in the forum you can nearly find everything ;) and for the rest keep on posting

I have your problem too!
and...I haven't understood the solution that to] suggested you, when I clock on the file thousand of words appear, as scripting, instead of a grasshopper file!

so have you resolved your problem and obtained smooth geometries applied to the base surface with edges matching the surface edges?

thanks! Giulio.
yes I agree with both problems you mentioned.

I see the same issue in the Blender forum.

I think you will never be able to make everybody use the search function
sometimes they do not know what key words they need to search for.

I googled flowsurface before coming to here.
