Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all, I have multiple curves I'd like to offset but some of them are offsetting outside when I want them all inside. Is there a way to get all the curves flipped the right way so proper offsetting can occur? There too many to flip individually.

Thx

Should mention that I've tried the guide curve feature is the flip component but there are still some flipped the wrong way. Maybe it won't work on these cells?

What's your overall objective for this?

I have programmed a number of curve network routines, that includes generating polygons or internal offset cells with filleted corners.

If you're happy to install and use a plug-in, it might save you manually trying to resolve the same problems. I'm happy to explain more and help you get started if it's of interest.

Hi Jon, yes I've used your plug in although I don't have a license for it right now. I used it to create cells from open curves - will it work to internally offset existing cells?

Thx
There's a separate component if you already have polygons curves as your input. Produces the same result, just saves traversing and identifying polygons within any arbitrary curve network.

If your "cell" is a closed polycurve or (or polyline curve), this component should help.

There's an example of this component using the grasshopper voronoi cell component on the blog for this

Great, thank you - I'll email you for a new license file.

I am having a similar problem using voronoi, do you have the link to this blog or component, i dont see it on the thread. please help!

where we can find that blog

Here is the blog topic Jon mentioned, but the very grasshopper component is a bit old, so it may not work. Try it yourself, if not contact Jon.

I think there's no problem with flip curve component if you connect guide curve properly.
