algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi!

I created a building with a double-curved façade with a diagrid structure. I used the lunchbox component and this is working perfectly.

I want to make a scale model of the façade with a laser cutter.

Therefore I baked the diagrid lines (which will be offsetted using autocad)

These lines/curves are in 3d. To laser the structure, the lines have to be in 2d.

I tried several ways, but I don't manage to get it to work.

Does anybody know how you can flatten these lines so I can make a scale model.

I attached my 3d file with the lines which have to be flattened/unrolled.

I hope someone is able to help me (soon :P)

Thanks in advance!

Hi Mariette, this is not possible since your surfaces are doubly curved, which means the diamond shapes are too.
