algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I am trying to panelize distinctly modelled surfaces by a standard division length but am running into trouble as I think my method of division is a bit too overcomplicated.
Conceptually, the image below is what I am after; a horizontal oriented grid of rectangles that are consistent between panelled sections.
below is a problem where in the last step of the script, my joint offsets seem to be reversed somehow (panels on left).
Does someone know how I can achieve this more effectively? I really just need a consistent way of splitting all panels by the same division length (currently using projecting a grid onto the surfaces, splitting into distinct panels, then offsetting)? Aligning the joints between panels on the vertical and horizontal is an issue, so including an operation for the shifting the grid around is also important.
Thanks.
