Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello,

I'm new to using grasshopper and i am trying to model something mimicking skin of the  the durian fruit

I am using a baked voronoi wire frame and then trying extrude each curve to a point to create flat triangular panels that can be laser cut. Im having trouble with curves trying to connect with multiple points rather than just their respective center points. Can someone please help?

Hi Ihi,

How did you create the voronoi pattern on that fruit surface?

I modified this script to get the density i needed and then baked, after that i cage edited to get a non platonic form which resembles the fruit more closely.

Thank you for the reply.

Why not extrude before baking?

but if you want to work on your file, GRAFT this.

Erick! thank you, it worked beautifully. Something so simple! your the best!

Could you share your script? I would like to see how manipulated the densities, thanks in advance.

yeah it was really simple, just changed the max for the random integers to increase the number of cells, and then added a slider to the sphere radius. I realize its not a true voronoi, but it works.

that was my doubt, not carefully review the definition and thought the points were strategically located with attractors or any restrictions, but if what you are looking for is a "regular voronoi" , this is more simplified, works well in spheres, how you applied to a irregular surface?

This looks much cleaner, i would like to try it, but what is the component with the cloud icon? i'm having trouble finding it.

Thanks Again!

Im also having trouble with lofting, trying to emulate it further by offsetiing
