Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I have a list with some numbers.

Now, I want to exclude the first and the last value in the list.

Or exclude the first two and the last two values in the list. How can I do that?

Thank you.

Thank you for all the advices and solutions.

I can see they all work well.

Now my task will be to determine and examine the way this solutions were created.

The biggest problem for me is my lack of English language knowledge, thus I have a huge problems reading the Grasshopper Primer.pdf

I think your best option will probably be sublist, I have attached a file that will take off the same number from beginning and end of the list, good luck.

Thanks Martin. You got a beer from me.

As a Grasshopper beginner user, I did not understand any of these solution, although they all work.

I intend to understand the solutions I use, and not only to use them, so I made one of my own.

It may look pretty lame, but it reflects level of my knowledge (if I even have one) and at least I understand it :D

There really are many ways to achieve the same result in grasshopper, basically what it comes down to is do things the way you understand, your (each persons) definition reflects the way you yourself logically work through problems. In a way your definition is a map of your own brain solving a problem. As long as he desired result is obtained and you understand what you are trying to do then it is fine. What I personally do is write out what I want to achieve as a paragraph, then I break that paragraph down into a list of steps, on paper. If you cannot clearly define what you want to achieve and logically how to achieve it in sentences then chances are you will run into GH problems.

Understood. Thank you for the "paragraph" tip.

I might start working like that!

Thanks Mike.

As a personal preference, I use the Shift List = 1 and Shift List = -1 (with Wrapping = FALSE)

Systemiq did suggest this on the previous page but the Wrap values were set to True which I don't think were intentional and could be misleading if you try it.

this is the technique i use to connect a grid of points with lines.
How do you mean?
