I am trying to make ETFE cushion-like surfaces from this definition compiled by Luis and Damien and i am struggling as usual: Why are the loft surfaces lofting between everything and not just the two lines i assigned to it ?
Thanks a lot Dirk,
Could you put in simple words what graft is doing in this case and why it was necessary to add it? How would you then loft the other side ?
Sorry, I am still quite confused with all those data branches and trees...
thanks again Dirk, it s very kind of you!
The loft component works with a list of objects. It will take the list, or multiple inputs and create a list to loft.
The graft component takes a list and makes each item in that list a branch on a tree...or essentially, its own list (of one item) within another list.
If Dirk did not do this, the loft component would try to loft through all of the curves in both lists into one surface. When he is grafting, he takes each item and makes a list from it. When he plugs it into the loft component, instead of lofting all of the items in both lists, it lofts one item at a time from each list...jaja, gets a bit long and verbose to explain! Use the param viewer to see the organization of your data through the various stages of the definition.
